What do you do to ensure the safety of your products?

All Pampers® products are 100% safe for babies to use. We take 3 key steps to guarantee performance and your baby's comfort and safety every day:

  1. Rigorous selection of the materials, whose safety is validated in collaboration with pediatricians, pediatric dermatologists and toxicologists. Because safe diapers start with safe materials!   2. Production: a key phase that we control from A to Z. Pampers® makes its diapers exclusively in its own production facilities (located in Europe). And we closely monitor each phase of production to ensure the quality of our products. Each diaper is constantly monitored by cameras and over 500 sensors and we make over 2,000 verifications a day.

  3. Constant evaluations for safe, certified diapers that respect baby's skin. Our diapers, pants and wipes are dermatologically tested.

Are the materials Pampers® uses safe for babies?

Yes. Pampers® only uses 100% safe materials in its products (diapers, pants and wipes). All of the materials used are subject to rigorous evaluations and strictly comply with the recommendations for safe use of substances from the EU Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety, SCCS/1564/15. Our researchers work with pediatricians, pediatric dermatologists and toxicologists to validate the safety of the materials selected as well as that of the finished baby products. How do you choose the materials for your products?

Safe diapers start with safe materials. That is why the materials undergo rigorous selection before being put in a Pampers® diaper. Each component has a specific function and must ensure performance, as well as your baby's comfort and safety. Our researchers work with pediatricians, pediatric dermatologists and toxicologists to validate the safety of the materials selected as well as that of the finished baby products. Are the colors used in Pampers® diapers safe for my baby's skin?

Yes. The colors used in Pampers® diapers are safe, non-irritating pigments whose safety has been carefully evaluated. Guaranteed to be safe for newborns and children, these colors are used to create cute prints. These colors cannot penetrate the skin, even in case of contact. We do not use coloring agents dispersed throughout Pampers® products. Did you know? Today, pigments are used in many products like fabrics and toys, paper, chalk and crayons.

Do you add chlorine bleach to your products?

Are Pampers® wipes soft enough for my baby's skin?

Pampers® products are dermatologically tested and clinically tested to ensure their softness, including on sensitive skin. Studies show that Pampers® wipes wipes product page link help maintain the skin's neutral pH and are as soft on baby's skin as a washcloth and water.

Can I safely use Pampers® wipes on my baby's face and hands?

Yes. Whether at the playground, high chair or changing table, your child can get soiled and Pampers® wipes gently and effectively clean away dirt. They are all dermatologically tested.

Are Pampers® Sensitive wipes fragrance-free and hypoallergenic?

Yes. Pampers® Sensitive wipes do not contain any fragrance. They are dermatologically tested and it has been clinically proven that they are as soft on the skin as cotton and water.

What is polypropylene and why is it used in my baby's diapers?

Polypropylene is a soft fiber that contributes to the comfort and performance of Pampers® diapers. Like all of the materials we use, this fiber is totally safe to use. In fact, you can also find it in clothing for babies and adults! Why use it in diapers? Polypropylene adds softness and comfort to all parts of the diapers that are in contact with baby's skin: it is an extremely resistant fiber, does not break, and therefore avoids the formation of pilling and friction against the skin. Plus, it is cleverly combined with other parts of the diaper to draw moisture to the absorbent core where it is trapped. What is petrolatum and why is it used in my baby's diapers?

Petrolatum is a name that can sound unappealing but it is simply the technical name of commonly used ingredient in everyday lotion products, as explained by the head of Pediatric Dermatology at the CHU Hospital of Bordeaux, France, Dr. Alain Taïeb: “Petrolatum is nothing more than the product known under the popular brand Vaseline®, a safe, inoffensive remedy commonly used in dermatology for over 100 years”. Pampers®* diapers contain a small quantity on their topsheet that touches baby's skin in order to protect it better. The petrolatum we use is pharmaceutical grade purified, fragrance-free and may be used in total safety on your baby. Did you know? Petrolatum is used in many lip balms and baby care products. Why is there adhesive on my baby's diaper? Is it really safe?

The adhesive used in Pampers® diapers is safe and solvent-free. It is used in diapers to keep the diaper's materials together and avoid leaks. These adhesives have been carefully tested and evaluated for safe use by babies. Plus, it does not come in contact with your baby's skin when wearing the diaper.
